What are bioregenerative treatments?

Bioregenerative treatments like biofillers and exosomes are part of a natural, holistic approach to full facial restoration. Regenerative aesthetics rely on the body's innate healing mechanisms to restore you to a youthful look. They encourage your body to produce collagen and elastin, returning lost volume to your face or body.

At Bespoke Medical Aesthetics & Wellness, we incorporate bioregenerative treatments into a mutli-modality plan designed to help you meet your unique skincare needs and goals.

What's the difference between PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and PRF (platelet-rich fibrin)?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentration of a patient's platelets that aids with healing when applied or injected. Though it's commonly used for musculoskeletal problems, it's increasingly used in skincare to stimulate the growth of collagen and elastin. In turn, it can tighten and lift the skin, reduce acne scarring and hyperpigmentation, and encourage hair growth.

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) contains a higher concentration of platelets and white blood cells than PRP, which makes it a more potent and effective treatment.

Growth factors are also released more slowly with PRF than PRP. Whereas growth factors from PRP are released hours after an injection, growth factors from PRF have a longer, slower release into injected tissue – a week or longer in some instances.

Unlike PRP, PRF contains mesenchymal cells (multipotent stem cells) that promote the regeneration of healthy tissue. PRP has fewer cells and no fibrin matrix to support a slower growth factor release.

What are the benefits of PRF (platelet-rich fibrin)?

As previously explained, PRF is a more potent and effective treatment than PRP. It has mesenchymal cells and releases growth factors at a slower rate than PRP. By aiding with skin rejuvenation and cell regeneration, PRF stimulates collagen production to help with volume loss while improving skin tone and texture. It can help with everything from under-eye bags to fine lines, wrinkles and acne scarring. It's used not only for facial restoration, but hair restoration, microneedling, post-laser treatment and even joint injections.

The Next Generation is Here at Bespoke: Try PRF Bio-Gel Filler

We're pleased to have the next generation of PRF bio-gel filler at Bespoke Medical Aesthetics & Wellness. This is an organic and durable protein gel that has stronger protein fibers than liquid PRF. It remains longer in the tissue, lasting upwards of 4-6 months.

The PRF biofiller we use at Bespoke Medical Aesthetics & Wellness, EZGel, does not contain any additives or anything artificial. Since PRF and EZGel doesn't contain calcium gluconate, calcium chloride or any other additives, it tends to be less painful than PRP treatments.

This specialized gel biofiller is also one of the safest injectables, making it possible to inject areas that are typically considered high-risk when using traditional hyaluronic acid fillers. When biofiller is injected into a blood vessel, there's no risk because it is simply your own blood being reintroduced into your system.

We typically recommend starting with two treatments, spaced a month apart. Patients may repeat every six months for maintence, or if they want a "glow up" before an event. In addition to restoring facial volume and symmetry, coming in annually will allow for improved hydration, skin texture, tone elasticity and diminished pore size.

Patients can expect some redness, swelling and soreness following their treatment. Using ice/heat and Arnica cream can help with any discomfort. We also advise patients to avoid excessive exercise in for the first 24 hours.
